چکیده

Manganese phthaloyanine polymer thick films were fabricated using screenprinting techniques. The optical parameters were obtained from the analysis of the absorption spectra over a wavelength range of 385-900nm. The d.c. electrical measurements were carried out in a range of 0-30 volts. The effects of γ-radiation on the optical and the electrical properties were investigated for dosimetry applications. The optical energy band gaps of these films showed a decrease in their values with the increase in the radiation dose. The electronic transition has changed from direct allowed for the as-printed films (unexposed to γ-rays) to indirect allowed for the irradiated samples. Both the as-printed and irradiated Ag/MnPc/Ag devices demonstrated a Schottky conduction mechanism. Both the absorbance and the capacitance of the MnPc thick films displayed a highly consistent linear response to γ-ray exposure.

Half-Metallic Properties of Single-Walled Polymeric Manganese Phthalocyanine Nanotubes

We present a theoretical study of the electronic and magnetic properties of single-walled manganese phthalocyanine (MnPc) nanotubes which can be thought of as rolled-up ribbons of the two-dimensional (2D) polymeric MnPc sheet. Our density functional theory calculations show that all of the MnPc nanotubes investigated here are half-metals with 100% spin polarization around the Fermi level. Follo...

Electronic structure, transport, and collective effects in molecular layered systems

The great potential of organic heterostructures for organic device applications is exemplified by the targeted engineering of the electronic properties of phthalocyanine-based systems. The transport properties of two different phthalocyanine systems, a pure copper phthalocyanine (CoPc) and a flourinated copper phthalocyanine-manganese phthalocyanine (F16CoPc/MnPc) heterostructure, are investiga...

Charge transfer from and to manganese phthalocyanine: bulk materials and interfaces

Manganese phthalocyanine (MnPc) is a member of the family of transition-metal phthalocyanines, which combines interesting electronic behavior in the fields of organic and molecular electronics with local magnetic moments. MnPc is characterized by hybrid states between the Mn 3d orbitals and the π orbitals of the ligand very close to the Fermi level. This causes particular physical properties, d...

Self-assembly of manganese phthalocyanine on Pb(111) surface: a scanning tunneling microscopy study.

The self-assembled structure of submonolayer manganese phthalocyanine (MnPc) on Pb(111) surface is investigated by using low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). A "holelike" superlattice, which is superimposed on the self-assembled nearly quadratic network, is observed. High resolution STM images reveal that there are two distinct azimuthal orientations of MnPc molecules. It is fou...

Energy-level alignment at interfaces between manganese phthalocyanine and C60

We have used photoelectron spectroscopy to determine the energy-level alignment at organic heterojunctions made of manganese phthalocyanine (MnPc) and the fullerene C60. We show that this energy-level alignment depends upon the preparation sequence, which is explained by different molecular orientations. Moreover, our results demonstrate that MnPc/C60 interfaces are hardly suited for applicatio...
